Bullens’ practice explores the notion of finding and extracting the immaterial within the material. Working predominantly in monochrome, he uses the camera as an instrument to capture visual sequences that evoke dream-like sentiments.

The book presents a set of dark and textural photographs in-between the heavy marble covers. The photographs that appear to be “trapped” play with the idea of animating the inanimate.
